2020 Online Tuber Sale

Sale Halted while we review inventory and orders. Sorry. We will resume once we are caught up.

Online sales will start on April 4, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. CST and will go through April 10, 2020, until 12:00 a.m. Bookmark this page because it will become the Tuber Sale page when we go live: https://minnesotadahliasociety.org/sale-2/

Below is the list of dahlia tubers that we have ordered from commercial growers across the U.S.

We cannot guarantee that we will receive all varieties on the list as there can be storage failure suffered by the grower or that we will receive all varieties in sufficient numbers.

The American Dahlia Societies online classification guide provides a list of definitions for the abbreviations of forms, color, and sizes. The link to the ADS guide is here https://www.dahlia.org/ocg/. The class numbers listed are the ADS classification numbers used when entering blooms in a show.

Covid-19 Precautions

We are following all precautions that are recommended to avoid any close contact.

  • We will have cars pull up on either side of the tent and keep people loading orders into cars more than 6 feet apart.
  • Our volunteers will be wearing gloves and masks.
  • Orders were paid online so we don’t need any face to face exchange.
  • Just hold your printed invoice up to the window so we can find the matching order.
  • We will load your order into your car’s trunk or back seat, just like they do at our grocery store.
  • We will take similar precautions when bagging up the orders.

There is also an option to have the package shipped to you; shipping charges will apply.

  1. Hi, do you have an order form? what is the order process? It would be helpful to have a form which I could submit electronically. We are planning to have our tuber sale on the web to. GOOD LUCK!

The online sales page will be live on April 4, 2020, at 9:00 am. You will be able to view a photo and read the classification of each tuber, add it to your cart, view your cart, adjust the quantity, and then complete the transaction online. You will need to bring a printout of your order to pick-up so we can find the correct order. If you prefer to have it shipped, just pay the fee. Good luck with your sale as well.

I am the treasurer for the Badger State Dahlia Society. What are you using for your point of sales software?

    1. Eric Thomson

Hi Merrilee, I replied by email but to answer your question, we are using Woocommerce for our tuber sale. We use the Square for credit cards and there is an option for it in Woocommerce.

We see that two of your orders did not process but the third finally did. Since they are all identical, I assume that we can delete the first two. I will email you first.

  3. Why doesn’t this post list the location at all? “Bachman’s on Lyndale” is not an address. Doesn’t list the city. Try looking up Bachman’s gardening on Google maps and see how many listings there are to try to sift through to find a Lyndale st.
